Role Overview
The Digital Applications Team at one of our largest Fortune 200 Energy Generation clients is undergoing a multi-year Digital Transformation and is seeking a Change Management Lead to design and build an Organizational Change Management (OCM) Center of Excellence (CoE).
This role will focus on establishing scalable change management standards, governance, tools, and ways of working to support enterprise digital initiatives, including modern sales enablement, process optimization, and large-scale technology transformations. The Change Management Lead will balance hands-on delivery with strategic CoE design, ensuring change practices are consistent, measurable, and sustainable across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in enterprise change management, strong executive communication skills, and the ability to mentor practitioners while influencing senior business and IT leaders. This is a highly visible role partnering with transformation leadership, IT governance bodies, and third-party system integrators to embed change capability across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
OCM Center of Excellence (Primary Focus):
Design, establish, and operationalize a centralized OCM Center of Excellence aligned to enterprise digital transformation goals.
Define and standardize change management frameworks, tools, templates, and methodologies across initiatives.
Establish OCM governance, intake, prioritization, and engagement models for business and IT programs.
Build and mature a Change Management Community of Practice, providing coaching, guidance, and quality oversight.
Develop metrics and reporting to measure change adoption, readiness, and effectiveness across programs.
Change Strategy & Execution:
Lead and oversee change management efforts for priority digital initiatives within the Digital Transformation Office.
Partner with business and IT leaders to define and execute enterprise change strategies.
Build and manage a matrixed change team, aligning practitioners to key domains such as modern sales, IT, and commercial operations.
Conduct and oversee Change Impact Assessments, readiness assessments, and stakeholder analyses.
Ensure consistent application of change practices across internal teams and third-party consulting partners.
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement:
Develop and execute enterprise communication strategies tailored to executive leadership, IT teams, and business units.
Deliver executive-level presentations and facilitate workshops, town halls, and governance forums.
Apply storytelling and visualization techniques to clearly communicate transformation vision, impacts, and progress.
Collaborate with system integrators and advisory partners to ensure alignment with OCM standards and expectations.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in organizational change management or a closely related role, ideally within Fortune 500 or large enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale digital and technology transformations.
Strong executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex change concepts clearly and visually.
Experience working with CIO/CTO-level stakeholders and IT governance organizations.
Familiarity with change management frameworks, adoption models, and enterprise governance processes.
Experience developing and executing Change Impact Assessments and adoption strategies.
Experience using collaboration and communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, intranet hubs) to support long-term change initiatives.
Strong ability to work across matrixed, multi-stakeholder environments.
Nice to Have:
ProSci ADKAR certification or formal training (not required).
Experience coaching, mentoring, or overseeing other change practitioners.
Background supporting transformation efforts in regulated or asset-intensive industries (energy, utilities, finance).
