Controller- Multifamily R/E

CPA, Controller - Multi-family | Hybrid Dallas | $140,000 to $160,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Brilliant is partnering with a national real estate firm that is building out its leadership team and looking to add a Controller type with a strong multi family background.

This is a highly visible role overseeing property accounting and development accounting across a large, growing multi family portfolio. The position sits at the intersection of operations, development, and leadership, and will play a key role in scaling processes, strengthening controls, and supporting continued portfolio growth.

Focus:

• Leading property and project accounting for a national multi family portfolio, including stabilized and in development assets
• Overseeing month end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet integrity across multiple entities
• Partnering closely with development, construction, asset management, and FP&A teams on project accounting, capitalization, and cost tracking
• Ensuring consistency and accuracy in accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting standards across the portfolio
• Managing, mentoring, and developing a team of property and project accountants
• Supporting system optimization and process improvements as the portfolio continues to scale

Requirements:

• Deep experience in multi family property accounting, ideally within a national or multi state portfolio
• Strong understanding of development and project accounting, including construction in progress and capitalization
• Prior experience leading teams and owning end to end accounting functions
• CPA Required
