Position Overview The EHS Director is responsible for leading the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of safety across all operations. This role aims to minimize risks and enhance safety performance while promoting sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
Lead and manage EHS team, providing guidance and support in the execution of health and safety programs.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate EHS considerations into operational practices and projects.
Provide training and resources to employees regarding EHS best practices and protocols.
Investigate incidents and accidents, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
Stay current with EHS regulations and industry standards, advising leadership on necessary changes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field a plus but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management roles, preferably in industrial, construction or manufacturing settings.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
EHS Manager certification or equivalent is required; EHS Director certification is a plus.
Experience with Avetta, ISN (or similar software) and field inspections is advantageous.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to develop and implement effective EHS training programs.
Willingness to travel from job site to job site, heavy field work.
