We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Federal Sales Representative to expand our presence within the U.S. federal government. This role requires a seasoned sales professional with a deep understanding of federal procurement processes, relationships within federal agencies, and a passion for cybersecurity.
The ideal candidate is a results-driven, self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This individual will be responsible for developing new opportunities, managing complex federal sales cycles, and building strong partnerships across federal agencies and contractors.
Responsibilities
Drive federal sales efforts across assigned agencies, focusing on new logo acquisition and account expansion.
Develop and execute a targeted territory plan aligned with federal budget cycles and procurement strategies.
Engage key stakeholders and decision-makers within federal agencies and system integrators to understand their security needs.
Collaborate with BDRs, solutions architects, customer success managers, and channel partners to deliver value-driven solutions.
Navigate complex federal procurement processes (including GSA Schedules, IDIQs, BPAs, and other contracting vehicles).
Maintain a high level of security and compliance awareness relevant to federal contracting (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST standards).
Build and manage relationships with resellers, strategic partners, and systems integrators specializing in the public sector.
Deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to the unique needs and compliance requirements of federal agencies.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 6–8 years in cybersecurity or enterprise software sales, with at least 3 years focused on U.S. federal government clients.
Proven Success: Track record of meeting or exceeding quotas in a federal sales environment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal procurement and compliance frameworks (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, CMMC).
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to engage executive-level stakeholders.
Work Ethic: High integrity, a proactive mindset, and a drive for excellence.
Travel: Willingness to travel to federal agency locations and industry events (up to 50%).
Security Clearance: Preferred but not required (e.g., Public Trust, Secret).
Preferred Skills
Experience selling application security solutions (SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA) or threat modeling platforms into the federal space.
Existing relationships within DoD, DHS, VA, or other civilian agencies.
Experience navigating partner ecosystems including government-focused resellers and large federal system integrators (e.g., SAIC, Booz Allen, Leidos).
Ability to open a new federal territory or program from scratch with minimal supervision.
