Head of Loan Servicing

Our client, a growing and well-capitalized lending platform, is seeking a Head of Loan Servicing to lead its loan servicing, operations, and portfolio reporting function. This role will oversee a team of loan administrators and financial analysts responsible for the accuracy, performance, and reporting of a large and complex loan portfolio.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an operations-focused professional with deep experience in loan servicing, financial reporting, and team management within a commercial lending, private credit, or specialty finance environment.

The Role

The Head of Loan Servicing will own all post-origination activity across the loan portfolio, ensuring operational excellence, accurate reporting, and strong internal controls. This leader will work closely with credit, finance, capital markets, compliance, and technology teams to support portfolio performance and investor reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Servicing & Operations

• Lead all servicing activities including payment processing, cash application, borrower maintenance, amendments, paydowns, and renewals
• Oversee covenant tracking, borrower reporting, and ongoing account administration
• Manage exceptions, escalations, and servicing-related risk issues
• Ensure all servicing activity is accurate, timely, and well-documented

Financial & Portfolio Reporting

• Own servicing data and portfolio reporting used by finance, capital markets, and senior leadership
• Oversee production of delinquency, performance, collateral, and covenant reports
• Partner with finance on investor reporting, reconciliations, and audit support
• Ensure strong controls over data integrity and reporting accuracy

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a team of loan administrators and financial analysts
• Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and service-level standards
• Drive training, coaching, and professional development
• Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement

Process & Systems Improvement

• Establish and maintain servicing policies, procedures, and controls
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and reporting tools
• Partner with technology teams on servicing systems and data integrations
• Support portfolio growth while maintaining operational discipline

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in loan servicing, loan operations, and credit operations
• Prior experience leading teams in a lending or financial services environment
• Experience with commercial lending, private credit, asset-based lending, or specialty finance
• Strong understanding of servicing workflows, loan documentation, and portfolio reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
• Experience working in regulated, audit-driven environments
