The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing strategic retail accounts, driving business development, and cultivating long-term relationships with key partners. This individual should have strong analytical capabilities, syndicated data experience (Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, etc.), and the ability to translate insights into action. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and bring a passion for both sales and beauty.
Duties/Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with smaller to mid-sized clients to increase satisfaction, retention, and growth.
Support senior account managers with account management tasks, including preparing proposals, quotes, and client communications.
Assist in identifying new business opportunities and upselling services/products to existing clients.
Gain a deep understanding of company products and services to ensure client needs are consistently met.
Maintain regular communication with clients to promote ongoing contract renewals and gather feedback on service improvements.
Collaborate with internal teams to address client needs and implement solutions.
Shadow experienced account managers to learn best practices in client relationship management and strategic account growth.
Track and analyze client performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Data-driven mindset with comfort analyzing syndicated data and performance metrics.
Proven ability to think strategically and execute with attention to detail.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
Passion for beauty and a deep interest in the category; beauty industry experience is a plus.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
1-3 years of experience in account management, sales, or business development within the CPG industry.
Experience working with syndicated data tools (Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, or similar) is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint; CRM experience a plus.
