Role:
The Language Apprentice I is responsible for assisting with the preservation and maintenance of the Potawatomi Language through participation in the Wattemnogishgowat Project, a Potawatomi Language revitalization model designed to ensure youth enrolled at the PBP Early Childhood Education Center and Boys and Girls Club of the PBPN hear the Potawatomi Language spoken. The Apprentice I will participate in a three-year apprenticeship to develop his/her Potawatomi language speaking and writing abilities while also working to achieve his/her CDA certification for post-apprenticeship placement within the PBPN workforce.
Minimum Requirements:
Driving: Must have a valid Kansas driver's license and be insurable with the Nation's insurance.
Experience: Two years of training in the Potawatomi language. Must possess an interest and knowledge of native lifestyle and culture
Education: High School education or equivalent
