The Merchandising Manager is responsible for leading assortment, pricing, and channel segmentation strategies across DTC, Wholesale, International, and Marketplace channels. This role partners closely with Product, Marketing, and Operations to translate consumer insights and performance data into clear seasonal assortments and executable line plans. The Manager brings structure and accountability to complex channel requirements, including wholesale segmentation and marketplace-specific needs, while ensuring decisions support brand consistency, margin goals, and long-term growth. This is a strategic and operational role focused on execution and alignment, not direct product creation.
Job Responsibilities:
Merchandising & Pricing
Lead merchandising and assortment strategy aligned with brand, financial, and channel goals in partnership with Senior Leadership.
Manage pricing and sales strategy execution across DTC, wholesale, and marketplaces, including initial pricing, promotions, and margin optimization.
Own merchandising-led product lifecycle, with a focus on end of life and rebuy; excluding direct product creation.
Assortment & Channel Segmentation
Own wholesale assortment segmentation end to end, consolidating ownership currently spread across multiple roles.
Define channel- and account-specific assortments, SKU rationalization, and exclusivity strategies.
Manage marketplace complexity, including Amazon-specific SMUs, balancing operational needs with brand and margin priorities.
Drive assortment clarity and simplification where possible, while supporting international and strategic accounts.
Product Partnership (Non-Creation)
Partner with the Chief Product Officer to inform development priorities through insights, sales performance, and market trends.
Seasonal Planning & Performance
Lead seasonal milestone meetings and manage line plan handoffs across cross-functional teams.
Own assortment performance analysis, identifying actions to improve sell-through, inventory efficiency, and profitability.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Act as the primary lead for merchandising, assortment strategy, pricing execution, and wholesale segmentation.
Collaborate with Marketing, Finance and Operations to ensure alignment and execution.
Provide clear direction, strong communication, and process ownership to eliminate inefficiencies.
Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, product management, or related roles within the retail or consumer goods industry.
Demonstrated track record of success in developing and executing merchandising strategies that drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and brand differentiation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, consumer insights, and financial metrics to inform decision-making.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
