The Doran Group is seeking a motivated Real Estate Development Intern to join our Development team for Summer 2026. This full-time internship provides hands-on exposure to the real estate development process, including financial modeling, feasibility analysis, and project support across multiple asset types.
This role is designed as a career-track opportunity. Successful interns will be considered finalists for an Associate Developer position upon graduation.
Duration: June–August 2026 , based in MN (preferred)
Responsibilities
Build and analyze real estate development pro formas in Microsoft Excel
Assist with financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and return metrics
Support feasibility studies, market research, and site analysis
Prepare professional presentations and project materials in Microsoft PowerPoint
Assist with due diligence, zoning research, and project documentation
Collaborate with internal development, construction, and property management teams
Requirements
Required:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business, Urban Planning, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including development pro forma modeling
Experience creating presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
Strong analytical and communication skills
Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for the entire summer
Preferred
Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in real estate development or finance
Familiarity with real estate financial concepts (IRR, NPV, cash flow modeling)
Connection to or strong interest in working in Minnesota
Willingness to work on-site during the internship
Compensation
$20-$23 per hour
Full-time, paid internship with mentorship and real project exposure
This position is not eligible for benefits. It is eligible for Sick and Safe time and MN Paid Medical and Family Leave.
