Bill Watts is partnering with a reputable and community driven retail and distribution company that has seen significant growth leading to this newly created position! The Regional Controller serves as a strategic finance partner to functional leadership, supporting budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and performance analysis. This role provides financial oversight for marketing, merchandising, and operational initiatives while driving process improvements and supporting system integrations. The position requires strong accounting and finance expertise, the ability to interpret complex data, and the capability to influence decision‑making across multiple departments. This role reports to senior finance leadership and works cross‑functionally with key operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely reporting, budgets, and forecasts in partnership with functional leaders.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve results.
- Evaluate marketing and advertising ROI, product cost/margin performance, and operational initiatives.
- Strengthen financial processes, recurring analyses, and performance management tools.
- Assess risks and opportunities within budgets, forecasts, and KPI trackers.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and internal controls; identify and mitigate control risks.
- Support ERP and analytical tool integration for improved reporting and data accuracy.
- Lead or support projects focused on cost savings, profit enhancement, and operational efficiency.
- Provide ad‑hoc analysis and support special initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, CPA or public accounting experience a big plus.
- Minimum 6+ years of accounting and/or finance experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
- Ability to work through large data sets to identify issues and opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive‑level presentation ability.
- High proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems/ERP tools.
- Strong business acumen, process‑driven mindset, and ability to drive change across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a cross‑functional environment.
