Senior Data Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for developing and sustaining robust data infrastructure that enables reliable access to high-quality data for analytics, reporting, and operational use. This position focuses on building scalable data pipelines, architecting modern data platforms, and optimizing data performance across cloud and database environments. The role partners closely with technical and business teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and manage data ingestion and transformation pipelines using ETL and ELT methodologies.
• Ensure data workflows are resilient, scalable, and performant to meet growing business demands.
• Design and maintain data architectures, including data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse solutions.
• Implement and manage structured and semi-structured data storage solutions across SQL and NoSQL platforms.
• Leverage distributed processing technologies to support high-volume and high-velocity data workloads.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain data solutions within cloud-based environments.
• Analyze and improve query performance and overall data platform efficiency.
• Apply best practices for indexing, partitioning, and data caching to support fast and reliable data access.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with analytics and reporting requirements.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support data and analytics initiatives.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience,
• or a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of experience,
• or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience as a Data Professional with 5+ years of experience as an Engineer/Developer
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (including T-SQL) and Python.
• Fabric or DataBricks experience
• SSIS
• Hands-on experience with data integration and orchestration tools.
• Strong understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based database systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in data modeling concepts, standards, and best practices.
• Solid knowledge of modern data platform architectures and parallel data processing concepts.
• Experience working with large-scale data processing and streaming technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex data challenges.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and reliability.
