Client is looking for a seasoned Director of Pharmacy to provide strategic and operational leadership for pharmacy services. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant, and patient-focused medication management while driving clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and staff development across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction for hospital pharmacy operations and services
Establish and execute departmental strategies, goals, and standards aligned with organizational priorities
Oversee medication distribution, clinical pharmacy services, and supporting technologies
Ensure safe, effective, and compliant patient care delivery across all pharmacy functions
Lead workforce planning including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, and development
Develop and manage pharmacy budgets while ensuring cost-effective use of resources
Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure regulatory readiness
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards (e.g., HIPAA, Joint Commission)
Embed evidence-based practices into pharmacy operations and clinical workflows
Foster a collaborative culture that supports professional growth, accountability, and quality improvement
Supervise and evaluate staff performance, ensuring adherence to safety and quality benchmarks
Required Skills & Experience
Significant experience in hospital or acute-care pharmacy leadership
Strong operational, financial, and people management capabilities
In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation, and compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and clinical initiatives
Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership skills
Qualifications & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (required)
Active Utah Pharmacy License (required)
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
