TITLE: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION: Remote

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract – 12 month contract

EXTENSION/CONVERSION: Eligible

PAY: $56-95/hr. W2

*Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location where candidate lives.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking multiple Sr. Mechanical Design Engineers for our most innovative nuclear energy clients. This opportunity is 100% remote where you will create design solutions for nuclear reactors. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical engineering, equipment design, component design and ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Code experience!


  • Design of reactor structures and components from requirements through final design.
  • Produce equipment and components design solutions.
  • Perform scoping analysis and calculations for design options.
  • Technically manage supplier activities.
  • Present equipment and components design results for design reviews.
  • Assess technical merit of solutions provided by team members, including leading design reviews.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred
  • 8+ years of equipment / component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience.
  • Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III.
  • Experience writing design specifications.
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Experience in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods, and commercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills, creative thinker.
  • Ability to work with minimum direction to solve challenging problems.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week.
  • Familiarity with CAD, SolidWorks preferred.
