Our client is a crypto infrastructure company building the routing and execution layer for on-chain index products. Their systems manage hundreds of millions in assets and depend on high-performance pathways across the DeFi ecosystem. The team is senior, fast-moving, and highly autonomous, backed by long-term capital and a strong track record of shipping production-grade DeFi systems.
They are hiring a Staff Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and scalability of their routing and backend infrastructure. You’ll work hands-on across routing logic, backend performance, and on-chain data systems, while providing technical direction to a lean team.
What You’ll Do
Lead and evolve the routing engine for multi-hop, multi-venue token procurement.
Design and refine execution logic for assembling baskets and orchestrating multi-step transactions.
Identify and eliminate backend performance bottlenecks across APIs, routing, indexing, and data flows.
Build and optimize on-chain data ingestion (liquidity, pricing, state).
Collaborate on architecture, gas efficiency, correctness, and execution reliability.
Oversee node/RPC infra and observability to maintain uptime and low-latency performance.
Provide technical direction to a part-time SRE/DevOps contractor while remaining hands-on.
What We’re Looking For
Strong background in DEX routing, solver engineering, arbitrage systems, or DeFi execution pipelines.
Senior-level backend engineering experience (TypeScript or Rust) with a focus on scalable, high-throughput systems.
Hands-on experience in EVM production environments (contract behavior, gas, liquidity structures).
Fluency with AMMs, liquidity pools, and on-chain data models used in routing and pricing.
Experience building systems that depend on real-time on-chain data, RPC orchestration, or custom indexing.
