Summary Of The Role

The Program Manager with a focus in vendor/procurement relations is responsible for driving strategic cross-functional initiatives. This individual contributor role will be a key component in aligning people, processes, and systems across different departments. A crucial component of this role will be to own the strategy, lifecycle management, and performance of a portfolio of third-party vendors that enable our B2B SaaS business. This role partners cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to select, onboard, govern, optimize, and renew vendors that support revenue growth, customer outcomes, and operational scale. You’ll build repeatable programs, ensure contractual and compliance rigor, and drive measurable ROI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a vendor strategy aligned to company priorities (growth, efficiency, risk posture, product roadmap, etc.)
  • Own a categorized vendor portfolio (GTM Tech, Data Providers, Product/Engineering Tools, Agencies, Compliance/Security Vendors)
  • Define vendor segmentation, tiering, and governance models (strategic vs. tactical suppliers).
  • Run a structured intake process to gather requirements from Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal.
  • Lead vendor evaluations: RFP/RFQ design, scoring frameworks, proof-of-concepts, stakeholder alignment, and selection recommendations.
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, purchase approvals, and spend visibility; ensure clean PO/invoice workflows where applicable.
  • Coordinate contract negotiations (commercial terms, SLAs, DPAs, security addenda, indemnities) with Legal and relevant stakeholders.
  • Build stakeholder operating rhythms: escalation paths, communication templates, and standard playbooks.
  • Own renewal calendar and renewal strategy, including price benchmarking, consolidation opportunities, and renegotiations.
  • Identify savings and efficiency opportunities (license optimization, usage rationalization, vendor consolidation).
  • Quantify and communicate vendor ROI and business impact.
  • Create and improve standardized processes, templates, and documentation for end-to-end vendor lifecycle management.
  • Build dashboards and reporting on vendor spend, renewals, risks, and performance.
  • Partner with systems owners (e.g., procurement tools, contract repositories, ticketing systems, CRM) to improve workflows and data integrity.

Qualifications And Skills

  • 5+ years in program manager role with focus in vendor management, procurement, operations program management, or partner management in B2B SaaS or technology environment
  • Demonstrated success leading initiatives
  • Strong contract and commercial acumen with pricing models (e.g., SaaS licensing, usage-based, SLAs, renewal levers)
  • Proven ability to build scalable processes and operate with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management - able to influence without authority
  • Comfort with data: building business cases, ROI models, and performance reporting
