This opportunity is with a private equity-backed field services organization operating across the United States within the traffic infrastructure industry. The company is experiencing significant growth through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, and it is seeking a seasoned Vice President of Integration to lead post-merger integration activities, drive synergy realization, and align people, systems, and processes under a unified operating model.

The Opportunity

The Vice President of Integration will play a key leadership role in shaping and executing the company’s integration strategy following mergers, acquisitions, and other transformative events. Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, this executive will oversee integration planning and execution across all functions, ensuring operational continuity, cultural alignment, and the realization of strategic objectives.

This position offers a highly visible platform for an experienced integration leader to make a measurable impact within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Strategy & Leadership

  • Design and execute a comprehensive integration strategy for newly acquired or merged entities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic and financial goals.
  • Establish clear governance frameworks, success metrics, and communication protocols to guide all integration activities.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for cross-functional integration initiatives, driving accountability and alignment across the enterprise.

Integration Management Office (IMO)

  • Build and lead a dedicated Integration Management Office (IMO) to coordinate planning and execution across all integration workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain a master integration plan that defines key milestones, deliverables, and interdependencies.
  • Oversee cross-functional resource allocation and progress tracking across Finance, HR, IT, Operations, Legal, and Sales.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with business and functional leaders to tailor integration approaches to each business unit’s unique needs.
  • Facilitate collaboration between acquired organizations and existing teams to ensure seamless transitions and business continuity.

Synergy & Value Creation

  • Identify, quantify, and monitor cost savings and revenue synergies in collaboration with Finance and business leaders.
  • Track performance against deal targets, reporting on synergy realization and post-acquisition value creation.

Change Management & Cultural Integration

  • Lead change management efforts to foster alignment, engagement, and adaptability across all levels of the organization.
  • Work with HR to drive cultural integration, leadership alignment, and transparent employee communication strategies.

Executive Communication & Reporting

  • Deliver regular updates to executive leadership, the board, and investors on integration performance, milestones, and risks.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team on integration priorities, challenges, and emerging opportunities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct post-integration reviews to capture lessons learned and continuously refine the integration playbook.
  • Develop standardized tools, templates, and best practices to support scalable and repeatable integration processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related field; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 3+ years in M&A integration, transformation, or corporate development.
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional integration programs within dynamic corporate or private equity-backed environments.
  • Strong knowledge of systems integration, business operations, and organizational change management principles.
  • Experience in high-growth or private equity environments highly preferred.
  • PMP, Prosci, or Six Sigma certification a plus.
