The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

MUFG is seeking a Vice President for the Americas Privacy and Information Handling Compliance Team which supports MUFG Americas, including the US, Canada, and Latin America. The position reports to the Director - Head of the Americas Team and plays a key role in supporting the development and implementing MUFG’s data privacy and protection program.

Responsibilities:

Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of MUFG Americas Privacy and Information Handling Program by:

  • Providing advice and guidance to business units and corporate functions on Privacy and Information Handling risks.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of Americas laws and regulations relating to data privacy and protection and other types of highly confidential information, and implementing appropriate changes to existing policies, standards and compliance programs based on legal and regulatory developments.
  • Participating in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, standards, procedures, assessment processes and response plans.

Support the Americas Privacy and Information Handling Compliance Team and ongoing data privacy and protection compliance activities by:

  • Leading privacy impact assessments, data subject access response, and the review of new products, services, and technology initiatives.
  • Support the assessment and resolution of information handling matters, consulting with internal and external subject matter experts as needed.
  • Supporting the privacy incident response process for Team responsible for responding to privacy and information handling incidents in the Americas region.
  • Working with Compliance stakeholders to support and implement privacy and information handling risk assessment and testing programs.
  • Supporting ongoing privacy and information handling monitoring processes.
  • Developing and reviewing privacy and information handling training program content.
  • Interacting with Legal and Compliance stakeholders, and other liaisons.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience supporting a data privacy program. Experience working in financial services preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge of U.S, Canada, and Latin America data privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills including the ability to prepare clear and concise summaries and reports.
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation and Excel skills
  • High attention to detail and extremely organized to effectively manage multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and to adapt to unexpected changes.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong sense of ownership to drive tasks to completion and to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree and CIPP certification preferred.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $116,000 to $160,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role

may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation. Additionally, our Total Rewards
