Adair Homes is seeking a Vice President of Operations to strengthen and scale its operational infrastructure in support of the company’s continued growth. With over 56 years of helping families build custom homes on their land, Adair is entering its next chapter—focused on expanding into new regions, optimizing cost strategies, and enhancing cross-functional performance.


This newly redefined role is ideal for a strategic operator who brings experience in purchasing, residential construction, and remote team leadership. The VP of Operations will provide structure, drive consistency, and develop processes that elevate performance across construction, purchasing, and drafting.


A strong understanding of supply chain and vendor strategy is essential to success. You will help Adair scale its build model while maintaining high customer satisfaction and operational excellence.


What the Role Entails The following are detailed performance objectives for the VP of Operations When measuring overall aptitude and cultural fit, all candidates will be benchmarked using these standards.


90-Day Performance Objectives:

• Learn the business model and assess the scatter lot construction process, with an emphasis on purchasing, drafting, and permitting.

• Build strong relationships with direct reports: Director of Construction, Purchasing Manager, and Drafting Manager.

• Evaluate current systems (COVA, NOVi, Microsoft BI, etc.) and identify key gaps in process, structure, and cost data visibility.

• Conduct an assessment of trade partnerships, purchasing procedures, and vendor relationships.


180-Day Performance Objectives:

• Develop a detailed action plan to improve purchasing performance, vendor management, and cost control across regions.

• Implement early changes to standardize pricing strategies and improve cost benchmarking.

• Collaborate with the CFO to ensure operational systems (ERP and BI tools) accurately reflect real-time job costing and margin visibility.

• Identify key permitting bottlenecks and work with drafting to improve jurisdictional turnaround times and documentation accuracy.


365-Day Performance Objectives:

• Launch a scalable purchasing program that reduces variability and supports geographic growth (AZ, ID, UT).

• Achieve measurable cost reductions and cycle time improvements.

• Create systems that align regional operations with centralized standards while allowing field flexibility.

• Position the company to successfully scale into new markets with repeatable processes, vendor strategies, and internal alignment.

• Build leadership bench strength across all operational functions and improve team accountability through EOS and performance.
