- [Narrator] Photoshop has several different blur filters, both under the blur and blur gallery menus. Now to create a simple uniform blur in an image, blurs like the Gaussian blur work really well, but for the most part, the filters listed under the blur gallery are more powerful and they offer additional controls for creating selective blur effects. So in order to convert this to a smart object, I will right click and choose convert to smart object, and then filter and blur gallery. And we'll start with the field blur. So there's five different options for blurring here. And like I mentioned, these blurs aren't like adding Gaussian blur filters, and then changing opacity. They're actually changing the amount of blur over the length of the blur. So we'll start with the field blur.
