Identifying speakers in a transcript
- Once you've generated a transcript in Premier Pro, it will attempt to identify logical breaks in the conversation. This might be where there's a large pause or where a new speaker begins speaking. Let's go over here to the text panel and I'm going to maximize that panel. On a English keyboard, I'll press the accent grave key next to the number one. You'll see here each paragraph, and it's currently labeled unknown. If I click on the more menu, the three dots, I can edit the speaker name. In this case, I'm going to name the speaker. This is the president of Radiant Imaging Labs, Elia Locardi. I'll enter his name and click save. You'll notice now that the speaker is automatically updated. For this particular video, we only have one speaker, but if there was more than one speaker, we would actually see that in the list and speaker two would be identified.
