Create pie charts
You can often gain important insights into your data by creating a pie chart, which displays the contributions of several parts to a total. For example, you could look at product categories and compare their sales visually. In this movie, I will show you how to create a pie chart that you might use in a Tableau, visualization, or dashboard. My sample file is 08_03 _Pie, and you can find it in the Chapter_08 folder of the Exercise Files collection. Creating a pie chart in Tableau is fairly straightforward. I have a blank worksheet and I'll drag product category from the sidebar. To the rose area or rose shelf, and then I'll go by sales count. So looking at the total number of orders for each category. And there I have it in a text table. To create a pie chart based on this data, I can go to show me and then click the pie chart icon or button. And there it is.
