What happens when young people step up to shape democracy, climate, and digital transformation in one of the world’s largest democracies? Think Policy, an Indonesian social venture, is on a mission to find out, and we’re proud to have them in our recently announced cohort of future social unicorns. 🦄🎉 Their model focuses on building critical thinking, evidence-based policymaking, and inclusive dialogue at scale. They have already ✅ Engaged over 1.8 million young Indonesians through interventions that strengthen civic participation, including the recent 2024 elections. ✅ Trained 2,700+ young professionals through bootcamps, workshops, and fellowships — building a pipeline of leaders who can design and deliver inclusive, data-driven policy. ✅ Partnered with government ministries, NGOs, and global organisations to embed evidence-driven approaches into policymaking, already influencing 12 government reform projects. Why does this matter? Indonesia is home to over 270 million people and faces urgent challenges: climate change, digital disruption, and persistent inequality. Yet policymaking often struggles with gaps in skills, data, and participation. Think Policy bridges this divide by equipping the next generation of leaders to design and deliver impactful, inclusive solutions, while enabling citizens to participate and hold them to account. 💡 Their approach is proving that: → Investing in human capital for systems change works, especially building skills, knowledge and confidence among young leaders. → Building platforms for participation can shift outcomes, for instance, creating spaces like Vote Wisely that make policy accessible and engaging to millions.
