Josh M.’s Post

Indian tea from Assam has always played an important part in the Good & Proper Tea | B Corp™ story. Emilie Holmes chose it as the very first tea she ever served from our tea van in 2012, a delicious, malty Assam that showed our first customers just how good tea can be when it’s done properly. It still plays a headline role across our range today. As sustainability and impact move higher up the agenda for many of Good & Proper Tea’s customers in the UK, it feels important to make sure those conversations stay grounded in the realities of the issues tea producing countries are facing. I’m excited to be heading back to Assam this week where, as well as visiting one of our longstanding suppliers, I’ll be with the ETP for their India Tea Forum, bringing together stakeholders from across the tea industry to discuss the pressures facing the sector and what a more sustainable future could look like. Spending time at origin with the Ethical Tea Partnership, alongside other stakeholders in Indian tea, is a chance to listen, learn and understand what long-term resilience looks like from all sides of the supply chain. Looking forward to a week of great conversations, insightful visits and learning from others across the industry!
