Mark Reuss’ Post

The Cadillac ESCALADE IQ and IQL have earned one of the industry’s most prestigious honors: MotorTrend SUV of the Year. The competition was especially fierce this year, with more than 40 SUVs, both internal combustion and electric, vying for the trophy. The VISTIQ also stood out as a finalist, showing the strength of Cadillac’s growing EV lineup. MotorTrend called the ESCALADE IQ “a moment, a monument, a milestone not only for Cadillac but vehicles in general.” The editors also said it was ESCALADE IQ’s styling, innovative technology, and 465 miles of range, the most of any EV SUV, that really set it apart. This award is a testament to Cadillac’s bold vision for the future. A huge thanks to the Cadillac team for its relentless pursuit of excellence and to the hardworking team members at Factory ZERO who bring the product to life. Congratulations to the Cadillac team. What an incredible achievement!

What incredible news, Mark! Winning MotorTrend’s SUV of the Year with the ESCALADE IQ and IQL is a historic milestone that shows how Cadillac is redefining the automotive industry. Seeing the VISTIQ as a finalist further reinforces the strength of our electric lineup and our commitment to innovation. 👏 👏 👏 👏 Congratulations to the Cadillac team and Factory ZERO for turning vision into reality, this recognition is the result of everyone’s dedication. It is inspiring to see how design, technology, and range come together to create not just a vehicle, but a true icon of the future of mobility. This award shows that Cadillac not only keeps pace with the evolution of the market, but leads the way, setting new standards of excellence. When the team is engaged by a single challenge, success shines along the path of the entire group, employees, engineers, leadership, and the CEO. Proud to see such a visionary team transform innovation into reality for our global audience!

This is a highly significant victory, not only for Cadillac but also representing an acceleration of the entire electric vehicle innovation curve. Standing out in the highly competitive SUV market essentially demonstrates two things: 1. The rapid improvement in technological maturity, including range, power, and platform capabilities; 2. Consumer demand for high-end EVs is shifting from "experimentation" to "mainstream adoption." From an investment perspective, the rise of these types of vehicles is often accompanied by supply chain upgrades, the expansion of new energy infrastructure, and deeper industrial collaboration. We look forward to seeing this momentum continue to drive long-term growth in the North American EV market.

Mark Reuss Celebrating milestones is powerful. But the timing makes the contrast impossible to ignore. SUV of the Year. A monument to engineering, innovation, and mastery of scale. Meanwhile, outside the showroom lights: families sleeping in cars they once financed, credit defaults breaking records, gas and utilities outpacing wages, and millions wondering how much longer they can hold on. We build vehicles capable of 465 miles on a single charge, yet so many can’t afford to drive 5 miles to work. So the real question isn’t about awards. It’s about alignment. Who is all this progress actually for? What does “vision for the future” mean if the people living in that future can’t participate in it? Because innovation without access isn’t progress. It’s theater. And the applause always sounds different when the audience finally sees the stage lights turn on.

As a General Motors group leader sidelined by AODA gaps (#2024-56170-I at HRTO), how's GM ensuring accommodations keep all frontline innovators—disabled included—in the driver's seat for these breakthroughs? Equity powers the range. Congrats on the honor! #CadillacEV #AODA #IWorkForGM Mark Reuss

"MotorTrend" honors the Cadillac SUV EV, which has a 3-phase, permanent magnet synchronous traction Motor (it rotates). ICE vehicles have reciprocating Engines. So, EV Motors are Trending. ;-)

Public update from Unifor Local 88 (Nov 17): General Motors has tabled a proposal and is negotiating pay protection and recall language for hourly members during the CAMI idle. Salaried employees at the same plant – including those on long-term EDB after requesting accommodations – remain outside any such discussions and have no equivalent protections. Same company, same facility, same production pause, two very different outcomes. Equity in action looks different. #AODA #Accessibility #WorkplaceInclusion #IWorkForGM

Congrats, team!! Our residence has been de-gassed with (2) amazing GM EVs (Sierra and Blazer). These vehicles are next level. Infrastructure is getting larger and more reliable, $14-$17 "fill up" at home for 300 miles. Too many positives to list. nEVer going back to the gassy side! #whenwillyoujointhefuture
