As usual, I've been thinking deeply about the Metals Transition and it feels like we are facing a new “Sputnik moment” right now. Why? China controls majority of the global critical minerals supply and they truly dominate in the processing and refining technologies of almost every one of the critical minerals that we need. It is time that every country around the world woke up to realize this new race. Instead of a space race, it is a resource race this time. As a response, The United States is finally entering this resource race by stockpiling more than one billion dollars in critical minerals, signing multi-billion dollar deals with private companies who are racing to produce the minerals for the government, and partnering with invetment firms to build projects around the world. But innovation and technolgy are the real solutions if you want to win this resource race quickly and lead it long into the future. Every time humanity faced a “Sputnik moment,” we answered with urgency, investment, and bold thinking. If you work anywhere adjacent to mining or technology, ask yourself: Are you watching the resource race or shaping its future? The next decade will be defined by the leaders, investors, and visionaries who step up today. #ResourceRace #CriticalMinerals #Leadership
