Nik Nicheperovich’s Post

You'll often find the words "AI" and "hype" written close together, and for good reason - much-improved cat videos are not a straightforward signal of an irreversible, technological paradigm shift. But in some ways, hype lags behind reality. See the slide below from the #AIWorldCongress2025 today: an illustrative example of the role AI can be expected to play now and in 5 years' time. Now: a basic tool and junior engineer at best. Future: team member and functional manager. That may be true for some teams. But not for ours. At its core, GIST Impact turns data into sustainability intelligence. Which means that collecting, estimating and validating data at speed and at scale is essential to enable the magic that happens downstream. And this is where our AI comes into its own: ➡️ Agentic AI tailored to every step of the process. ➡️ Multimodal (quant/qual/geospatial) data recognition and processing. ➡️ Training via curated, specialist datasets built up over 15+ years. ➡️ Automatic confidence flags and explainability. Now the norm, it's hard to imagine things could ever have worked differently. But of course they did. And the teams that made this shift possible can now move from drudgery of manual workflows to oversight and model refinement. Is this a perfect system? Far from it. But it's making use of the future we are promised today, to try to save the world of tomorrow. (At least in the way we know how). So, here's to cat videos: you may be a guiding light after all. 😼 Vineet Gupta Rahul Jha Mahima Sukhdev Sam King Pavan Sukhdev Anupam Ravi
