Christian Lang’s Post

Still reflecting on yesterday’s seed fundraising Roundtable webinar — 200 people joined, but what really made it great was how practical and honest the conversation was. Big thanks again Lukas (SE3 Labs) and Enrico (Lakestar). They didn’t share the shiny version of fundraising — they shared what actually matters before, during, and after the round. A few standout points I’m taking with me: 👉 Revenue expectations are tied to effort and product complexity. Not every product can (or should) generate revenue at the same speed. Understanding how much effort it takes to ship changes what “good traction” really means. 👉 Warm intros and social signals aren’t a nice-to-have — they’re part of the strategy. Fundraising is not just about the deck. It’s about trust, context, and who vouches for you. 👉 Emotional intelligence is a founder superpower. In leadership, in marketing, and especially in fundraising — reading the room and understanding what the other side really wants is everything. One line that stuck with me: “Understanding what the other person wants is key in any sales / fundraising process.” 👉 Post-funding gets harder, not easier. The round isn’t the finish line. It’s where focus and discipline matter most — staying sharp on priorities and spending with intent. Also a refreshingly founder-friendly take: “Founder salaries should be high enough to create comfort and maintain focus on the company.” More truth in that than people admit. Grateful for everyone who joined and made it a real discussion. If you were there — what’s one thing that resonated most with you? And if you weren’t: what’s your biggest open question about seed fundraising right now? For those who could not join - replay see in the comments 👇

Hi Christian, I just went ahead without any seed funding and created IP with two talented people one a housewife the other a prisoner out of prison both with fresh ideas and together we created our first two projects. I have autism in relation to seed funding and funding in general could you give me any pointers on how it works? I’m going to continue building this company anyway but finding the right person to build to the next stage would be great 👍 Thank you Julie
