CO2 co-feeding in Fischer-Tropsch catalysis studied

A previous catalytic study I co-authored during my MRes has recently been published in RSC Sustainability: “Understanding the role of CO2 co-feeding in Fischer-Tropsch to olefins catalysis.” The work combines inelastic neutron scattering with mass spectrometry to examine how surface carbon species evolve under CO2 co-feeding. This multimodal approach helps clarify mechanistic changes in the catalyst surface during reaction and provides insight into product selectivity. The study also contributes to a broader understanding of how CO2 utilisation may play a role in more sustainable olefin production. Part of the study was supported by measurements on the MAPS spectrometer at the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. Thank you to my co-authors and collaborators and in particular to Alisha D., for leading the project.
