IFS Certifications: Value in Credibility and Career Growth

💡 Is there real value in getting IFS certifications? Over the years, I’ve seen professionals and businesses debate whether investing time in IFS certifications actually makes a difference. From my perspective, there’s value but it depends on how you use it and the context of your role. ✅ Why it matters: Credibility: Certifications show you’ve taken the time to understand IFS functionality beyond hands-on experience. Confidence: They help you approach projects, cutovers, and implementations with a structured framework. Career growth: For individuals, it can open doors to new roles or consultancy opportunities. ⚠️ My take by role type: Permanent roles: Certifications can really help, giving structure, credibility, and a strong foundation for long-term career development. Contract roles: The real value comes from experience, seeing projects succeed, understanding what goes right (and what goes wrong), and applying those lessons on the next engagement. 💬 Bottom line: Certifications are useful, but nothing replaces hands-on experience in delivering IFS projects successfully. I’d love to hear from the community: Do you think IFS certifications genuinely make a difference day-to-day, or is it all about experience? #IFS #ERP #ProfessionalDevelopment #Certifications #CareerGrowth

IFS Certifications are good but only one component. And experience is another component. Both represent the demonstrated knowledge and capabilities. Looking at certifications, experience along still leaves a gap as I’m seeing in the ecosystem. There’s a larger challenge occurring in the ecosystem that’s mostly going unnoticed or ignored.

I've just done mine and they're not the best for learning applicable experience. If the certs encouraged sharing experience and building connections they would be invaluable. As is experience wins every time and certs are an expensive baseline that doesn't necessarily show the true value a person can add.

Certifications are useful for foundational awareness of a module.
