AeroTex GmbH’s Post

Last week we were very pleased to be able to present the results of the Propeller Ice Shed Measurement (PrISM) project in a public workshop. The project consortium (AeroTex GmbH, the Austrian Institute for Icing Sciences, Dowty, a GE Aerospace company and RTA Rail Tec Arsenal , who also hosted the event) were able to share some of the key results from the project, and facilitate a discussion between all interested parties surrounding the complexity of icing on propellers. By running a hybrid format we were able to maximise participation and were pleased to welcome people from 7 different organisations in person and a further 32 organisations online, with a total of 94 people attending the event. It was great to get views from industry and the regulatory authorities, as well as having academia present. We hope to present further details of our results at the AIAA Aviation Forum 2025. The PrISM project has received funding from the Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation & Technologie as part of the Austrian Aeronautics Programme TAKE OFF via the FFG Austrian Research Promotion Agency.
