The Gartner Modern 4PL Magic Quadrant is just a few weeks away from being published. Shippers will have a definition of a 4PL. This will eventually shift the way big brokers/3PLs go to market - and we got a sneak peak. It's news. Most go to market leaders we talk to either have no idea this is coming, write it off as "pay to play" (it is, but that's not the point) or don't know how to MONETIZE a new Gartner MQ. We do. So when I met a prospect who was doing it all, I was floored. They: 1. Have been investing in Gartner for 15 years. 2. Also invest in 2nd tier firms to firm up their position. 3. Have a Gartner reprint program they use for exec-level content. 4. Are using 6Sense to identify changes in their target markets' operations and current customer cross/up sell opportunities. 5. Track the attribution of these efforts through the marketing funnel and sales pipeline. My jaw dropped. No one does ALL of this. I was impressed. Of course, we still found ways to add nuggets of value, but this one shocked me. And it's working for them, they are clearly the leader in their vertical. Proving the Gartner play works - but it's a long game.

Win-loss analysis is no longer a nice-to-have. Companies that shrug off win-loss analysis aren’t just missing out on critical, revenue-driving insights.
