The college making a positive impact on the planet. For #ZeroWasteWeek, we’re spotlighting Askham Bryan College, an agricultural institution in York and one of our #Education sector sites implementing sustainable practices to reduce waste. One of the unique features on site is the allotment which provides students and staff with nutritious meals made with fresh ingredients, whilst also helping us minimise our impact on the environment. From allotment to plate, produce grown at the college is used in its entirety to reduce food waste, and anything that cannot be used in the kitchen is collected and turned into biofuel. Our Wipe out Waste recipes have also been a success at the college. They encourage chefs to turn leftover ingredients that would typically be discarded into creative dishes such as: ☕ Coffee ground brownies 🍌 Banana peel bacon 🧁 Butternut squash peel muffins These are just some of the sustainable-led initiatives at the college, check out more of the incredible work they are doing below. 📽️: Lemon Wedge Productions Stuart Dunlop Katie Burnett Gina Camfield Lauren Johnson #ESG
