Today marks my last day at K&L Gates. It’s hard to believe that 14 years have already gone by—almost to the day. Time has flown, but looking back, those years have been filled to the brim with experiences, challenges, and memories I’ll carry with me. There are far too many people to thank here, but I will call out the greatest mentor I could have hoped for on this journey: Susan Altman. From the day she opened her door to a young, impressionable associate many years ago, she remains to this day a constant source of no-nonsense wisdom and guidance—something I continue to treasure. For all the others, I’ll let pictures and music do the talking, as has become tradition. Finding the right song proved harder than expected—most “goodbye songs” are either too sentimental or too bitter, neither of which reflect how I feel. The contemplative tone of Pink Floyd’s High Hopes felt like the natural fit. Perhaps ambitious to cover, but a perfect metaphor for any journey: mistakes are made, lessons are learned, and growth continues. Thank you to all the friends, colleagues, and clients who have shared the road with me so far. The journey is far from over—stay tuned for what comes next.
