ASTM International's rCB committee develops new standard for production process monitoring

ASTM's recovered carbon black (rCB) committee (D36) is developing a standard that will help enable a manufacturer to significantly improve their production process monitoring abilities and improve productivity. The current method results in a testing time that can take up to 18 hours. ASTM member Pieter ter Haar says that the newly proposed standard can reduce the testing period to only a few hours, significantly improving the ability to make process adjustments and reducing potentially off-spec material.
