Who knows what today is? That’s right, it’s #WorldMaritimeDay. Inaugurated by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), every year the last Thursday of September serves as an important reminder of shipping safety, maritime security, and the protection of the marine environment. This year’s theme, “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity”, aims to remind us of the essential role our ocean plays at sustaining life as we know it today. The theme also resonates strongly with global initiatives like the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, at a time when sustainability matters now more than ever. As we reflect today, we are reminded of just how vulnerable our ocean actually is. That’s why at BioBright it is our mission to help shape a sustainable future, providing the maritime industry a long term, sustainable solution to help reverse pollution in our ocean.
