London Business School economist Andrew J. Scott is credited with the precise phrasing: In today’s age of AI and digital transformation, our true competitive edge isn’t in outpacing machines > it’s in amplifying what makes us uniquely human: Empathy, Creativity, Collaboration, and Purpose (ECCP Model).

I've been sourcing on a leadership role in the AI space...and that has allowed me to have some incredibly insightful conversations with many leaders in the Fortune 100 space: finance, retail, logistics, entertainment, manufacturing, gaming, tech, etc etc etc. I'm not exaggerating when I say this: many of us have ZERO clue how ubiquitous AI is today...and will be in the future. It will touch everyone's job who uses a laptop or any device with a touchscreen/keyboard. My favorite quote so far: "our front-line employees don't even realize they're using AI in their day to day queries/work." 😬 AI is the future...get on board!

‼️ This. Most folks do not understand the roles AI is playing in our day to day lives already. The ethical, quality, and environmental considerations of generative AI have dominated conversations for a few years now, but the reality is that computers have been learning and 'making decisions' for years in industries big and small. Unfortunately, I think the best phrase is that today we can't "unpee in the pool" and we have what we have right now. It's complicated and there's no way there are enough safeguard in place, but that doesn't take away from the fact these systems aren't going anywhere and they're doing more, faster, than anyone outside of working with it ever thought right now. Most generative AI initiatives are not replacing jobs en masse, or as fast as many employers would like, but it doesn't change the future or our ever-evolving present.

From AI to generational shifts, the media landscape is transforming fast. Great to sit down with Jon Steinberg to talk through how we’re helping clients navigate the disruption, and find opportunity in the change.

In observing the industry there does seem to be a LOT of mindless lemming activity around AI adoption. Some of the CEO "memos" are very thoughtful and show strong leadership through the FUD. Others are clearly chasing the trends without having principaled understanding of either "the why" or "the how". To be clear. Not my CEO. Stella Garber knows precisely all of things she (and I) want AI to do and why.

In the rush to embrace AI, a crucial question emerges: Are we mistaking hype for genuine return? The current landscape presents a paradox, even industry leaders are navigating uncharted profitability waters. This raises concerns about whether "the bubble hasn't popped yet," suggesting a need for cautious optimism. Distinguishing between fleeting trends and transformative innovations becomes paramount. What separates ventures destined for collapse from those poised to redefine the future? Curious if anyone else is experiencing similar challenges or has insights to share. #AIAdoption #TechInvestment #InnovationStrategy #FutureofTechnology #StrategicThinking
