In order to “Build a championship winning team” you need to spend on FAs. Constantly picking from the bottom of the barrel will get you nowhere. Missing the playoffs in the last 5/6 years shows exactly what that will get you. Go get Juan Soto, make a splash. Haven’t done that in years.
