The past months have been filled with laughter, tears, nerves, audacity, faith, joy, and a lot of moments that required being uncomfortable — and growing through it. I had the honor of leading Mayor-Elect Mary Sheffield’s mayoral communications and events throughout this historic campaign. Mayor-Elect Sheffield trusted 98Forward — where I proudly serve as Senior Director of Public Relations & Events — to shape the message, tone, and visibility of a candidate who not only made history, but led with integrity, compassion, and purpose. None of it would have been possible without the brilliant team that brought strategy, creativity, and commitment to every single moment: Georgella, Marilyn, Antonice, Ernest, Nat, Cydney (PR Manager), Miranda (Event Manager), and Cheri — thank you for your excellence. It was also an honor to collaborate with the Mayor-Elect’s dynamic campaign leadership — a powerhouse group of Millennials and Gen Z trailblazers shaping the future of politics: Chris Liscott (Campaign Manager), Danielle Annise (Chief of Staff), Taylor Harrell, Molly, A. Stevenson, David, and the entire 2640 E. Jefferson and Wyoming teams. From strategy to celebration, every moment mattered. Grateful to have played a role in this historic, purpose-driven journey.
