We’re delighted to continue our collaboration with Kier Group,a leading name in UK construction and infrastructure — in supporting our Year 1 T-Level students industry placement in Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction. Kier’s close work with local colleges and supply chains offers our students an authentic view of the construction industry, helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience. On Friday 3 October, Kier visited our campus. Dear Clare Bing delivered an engaging introduction, followed by an interactive challenge where students had to build a colourful high-rise tower following precise rules about order and colour. It was a fun and practical lesson in teamwork, communication, and following technical instructions. Then on Monday 6 October, our students had the opportunity to visit HMP Bullingdon, a high-security live construction site managed by Kier Group . The visit had two key parts: first, students were given a project management challenge where they had to plan and present a proposal for developing a new shopping centre — focusing on time, cost, and project breakdown. Group 2 were the winners for their excellent planning and presentation. Secondly, we were given a rare chance to tour the site itself, including classrooms and workshops built for prison education and training. Students observed precast concrete elements, foundations, and service installations — perfectly connecting with what they had studied the previous week in class. Huge thanks to Kier Group for providing such valuable, hands-on exposure to our T Level students and for their ongoing commitment to supporting future construction professionals. #TLevels #ConstructionEducation #Kier #IndustryPartnership #FutureWorkforce

This included Drumgeith Community Campus & Greenfield Academy for Dundee City Council, Monifieth Learning Campus for Angus Council and Perth High School for Perth & Kinross Council. The three brand-new schools, delivered to exacting Passivhaus standards and supported by The Scottish Government's Learning Estates Investment Programme (LEIP), were completed on budget and programme in time for the new school term. Our Chief Executive Officer, Elliot Robertson, said: “These schools each illustrate what can be achieved when a local authority, community, project partners and supply chain work together with a shared vision to deliver spaces that inspire learning, support wellbeing, and bring people together.” Regional Managing Director, Robertson Construction Tayside, Kevin Dickson added: “Three state-of-the-art high-quality schools completed on programme, on budget and opening in the very same week highlights the expertise and reputation we have built over more than a decade in the region.
