I think the folks relocating here with Space Command will be pleasantly surprised by how much they like the Huntsville area when they get here. While we lack the majesty of the Rockies, we certainly make up for it with our lakes and rivers. There's a reason they call it "Alabama the Beautiful"! We still have our own low rising mountains in Southeast Huntsville, in Owens Cross Roads/Gurley, and north to New Market. If you live in one of the valleys in those areas you will have mountain views in every direction. Even better, no winding, curvy roads like you find in the Rockies! I recommend coming for an area tour before moving here. While Huntsville's not huge, the differences between one side of town and another can be significant. Within 20 miles you can go from valley to mountaintop, and from riverfront to farmland.
