🤖 Palworld Studio Pocketpair Takes a Stand Against Generative AI “We don’t believe in it,” says the team behind one of 2025’s biggest hits. The developers of Palworld, Pocketpair, have confirmed that their new publishing division will not support games using generative AI. In an interview, publishing head John Buckley said the team “doesn’t believe in” AI-generated content, emphasizing that authentic artistry remains the heart of great game design. In a year when AI tools are reshaping industries, this stance stands out. Pocketpair’s move highlights a growing divide between studios experimenting with AI workflows and those defending human-led creativity. The company believes that while automation can assist developers, fully generative assets dilute originality and player connection. Their decision may inspire other publishers to reconsider how they integrate AI — and how to balance progress with creative identity. 👉 Do you agree with Pocketpair’s choice to reject AI tools in development, or is the future of gaming inevitably tied to it? #Palworld #Pocketpair #GamingNews #AIinGames #GameDevelopment #EthicalTech

Gaming Giants Electronic Arts and Krafton Make Major Moves into Generative AI Both EA and Krafton are making big bets on generative AI, signalling a shift in how games will be developed and operated. EA has entered a strategic partnership with Stability AI to co-develop AI models and workflows aimed at accelerating asset creation and environment prototyping. Meanwhile, Krafton has declared itself an “AI-first” company, planning to invest roughly ₩100 billion (≈ US$70 million) in GPU cluster infrastructure and allocate ₩30 billion annually from 2026 onward for AI tool support and workforce transformation. These moves reflect a deeper industry trend of integrating generative and agentic AI into creative pipelines, but they’re also drawing scepticism from some creators fearful of automation displacing human artistry. #TOAINews2025 #ElectronicArts #Krafton #GenerativeAI #GameDevelopment #GamingIndustry #AIFirst #WorkflowAutomation #CreativeTech

“𝐄𝐀 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐈 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬” Electronic Arts (EA) is making a significant investment in generative AI for gaming, partnering with Stability AI, the creator of Stable Diffusion, to simplify asset production and improve visual fidelity. The partnership will first generate Physically Based Rendering (PBR) textures and research the AI-enhanced pre-visualization of a full 3D scene using simple text prompts. EA insists that while AI is a machine-driven tool, it is not a machine replacement. It can compose and generate; however, imagination, empathy, and storytelling are part of the human artist's process. The intent is to simply speed up the workflow so that teams can focus on design, story, and gameplay, while the AI reduces the manual game asset creation. Smaller studios may also see some benefit that could compress the speed gap in comparison to AAA production pipelines. However, not everyone is convinced. Some developers, even at EA, say that AI is often bad at not "hallucinating"-making broken assets that take up even more work-and they fear they are effectively training their possible replacement. Productivity increases are not a guarantee, and skepticism continues to grow about whether AI can produce reliable creative work. For players, this might mean deeper, more engaging worlds and more rapid production. For developers and the industry, it’s a key point in time: AI can change workflows, costs, and creative roles, but some big challenges lie ahead. EA’s experiment with generative AI predicted the future of AAA game development, yet the real revolution might start with a bit of internal dissent.
