Hiring a Video Editor? Great. But if the role includes editing, shooting, motion graphics, scripting, thumbnails, social media strategy, and ads… That’s not a video editor. That’s a full production + marketing team rolled into one role. Clear job scopes lead to better output, faster growth, and healthier teams. Let’s set realistic expectations and write honest job descriptions. #videoeditor #contentcreator #videoshoot #motiongraphics #mediastratery
It seems most people commenting on your post think you are actually posting a job 😅 and totally missed the point
In Indonesia, many people have one job title but are responsible for many different tasks 😁
yes, anybody who is extremely extremely talented at video editing still has demand in this market. However, if you’re a video editor for social media or YouTube your competing with an army of young talent that proudly declares themselves as jack of all trades and a master of all. i’m currently trying to move away from positioning myself as a “full stack” creator and either focusing on my cinematography and writing. But I still find myself taking on gigs where I do way too many things outside of what I was hired for.
Hi I’m a professional video editor with 2+ years of hands-on experience, helping creators, brands, and businesses turn raw footage into engaging, high-quality videos that hold attention and tell a clear story. I specialize in: 🎬 Documentary-style videos 📺 YouTube videos & faceless channels 📱 Short-form content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok) 🎙 Clean voice-over syncing & sound design
Yeah, most vague job descriptions, are written by people who usually don't know that, so it's either they need to do some research before posting the job description, or ask a professional.
Over time after creating content doing all the things you listed, I realized that editing means "just editing" lol
Now tranding title is "Multimedia designer" He/she should know video editing, sounds designing, shooting, ui ux, graphic design.. etc
But as a video editor if you know photoshop it’s a bonus point I use photoshop alot while editing But yea they mess up the job description. But I want to say every editor learn about every new tool
The amount of time that goes into creative works like video , music and film , social media is very undervalued especially the amount of time put into this stuff. The return on investment is typically low unless you are maybe doing advertising.
