I’m excited to share that my first research article has been published in the American Journal of Cancer Research (AJCR). This publication represents a meaningful milestone in my early work in cardiovascular nanomedicine. Our systematic review, “Advances in cardiovascular gene therapy: a systematic review of nanoparticle-based delivery strategies for atherosclerosis,” examines an emerging therapeutic direction in cardiology: using functionalized nanoparticles to deliver gene-modulating agents directly into atherosclerotic plaques. Rather than managing risk factors from the outside, this approach seeks to engage with the plaque’s own molecular biology—modulating inflammation, macrophage dynamics, and lipid handling from within. I am grateful to my co-authors and mentors for their collaboration and support throughout this project, and I look forward to contributing to the next steps in targeted therapeutics and translational nanomedicine. Epigenetic Editing Enables Safer, Smarter CAR-T Engineering Researchers from Arc Institute, Gladstone Institutes, and UCSF have unveiled a new way to reprogram T cells without cutting DNA, a breakthrough that could make next-generation CAR-T therapies safer and more effective. Using CRISPRoff/CRISPRon, scientists can now switch multiple genes on or off through epigenetic modifications, avoiding the DNA damage that limits traditional CRISPR editing. In preclinical models, these enhanced CAR-T cells exhibited improved survival and tumor-killing activity while preserving genetic integrity.
