Precision Meets Practicality — The Gearbox Lid Project For this gearbox lid, our customer required a ±0.01 mm tolerance for both perpendicularity and parallelism — a demanding specification that our 5-axis CNC machining center can fully achieve. However, when moving toward mass production, we worked closely with the customer to explore a more efficient and cost-effective solution. Through structural optimization, we adjusted the tolerance to ±0.05 mm — maintaining the same assembly accuracy and functionality, while improving manufacturability and reducing cost.
