Frank Kanjanda’s Post

On Sunday, I completed my first half Half Marathon in Ealing and let me tell you something, it was one of the most hardest if not most physically demanding thing I’ve ever done and my legs on Monday were obliterated but have just about recovered😂 What it did do was prove that you can go further thank you think and it’s all about mentality. I only started running in April and back then I thought 5k’s were hard, then progressed most recently to 10k’s. I never classed myself as a “runner” but am athletic and couldn’t get my head round on how anyone can enjoy it but I hear it, everyone has different motivations. My motivation was to challenge myself and complete this half marathon and be outside the comfort zone! Fast forward to the Sunday just gone, it was the first time I’ve ever ran over 10k and 21km mission accomplished✅Crossing the finishing line was a class feeling, 15k onwards with heavy fatigue definitely was not a joke as I would say ‘saga’ but my focus, resilience, grit and perseverance got me through it and I’m proud of myself!!!🦾🏃🏿➡️ Big respect, shoutout and huge well done to both Thomas Coombs and Sarah Lody for smashing the Half Marathon too!👏🏿 Maybe next time round, do another half marathon, full marathon next year, ultra marathon, Ironman? (Only joking, I ain’t doing none of that)😂😂what’s everyone’s favourite achievement that’s physically and mentally demanding?

Similar story... I started running in June (but, in 2015) and did a half marathon in early November the same year. I didn't even think I *could* run; I had considered getting one of those "0.0" stickers for my car after I found out what they meant. Finishing the race, I felt so accomplished! And though I don't find time for races these days, I still run 3 days a week and feel great! Congratulations, a half marathon is quite an accomplishment!
