Last Friday, I wrapped up 10 amazing weeks at PitchBook as a Data Operations Intern. Throughout the internship, I took on eight different projects that pushed me to grow as a problem-solver, deepen my technical skills, and learn how data supports PitchBook’s mission. Some highlights: • Analyzing metrics across multiple datasets to surface key takeaways and generate insights that supported strategic improvements • Creating a customized research framework to identify and capture missing dates in the PitchBook platform, helping improve data completeness and accuracy • Utilizing SQL and Python to process, validate, and analyze data efficiently Along the way, I also gained valuable exposure to the private markets and developed a deeper understanding of how they operate. I want to thank Hayley Drace and Anne Sampson for leading such a fantastic intern program, and especially Hayley for being an incredible manager whose guidance made this experience so rewarding. I’m also thankful to all of my project leads for supporting me throughout the process and contributing so deeply to my learning. And finally, I’m grateful to my fellow interns Jason Siu, Sydney Longhurst, and Abby Kearny, who turned every day into an opportunity to ‘make it fun.’ Following this internship, I feel more confident in my abilities, inspired by the people I’ve worked alongside, and excited to keep building on what I’ve learned. Thank you, PitchBook, for an unforgettable summer.
