Not only was a brilliant man, father of two, husband, and good Christian silenced today by violence, but the most fundamental freedom that defines us all was not attacked but silenced by violence. My wife and I are graduates of Utah Valley University and deeply saddened at this news as we loved listening to Charlie. We stood in our kitchen after learning the news, in tears, and prayed for Charlie’s wife and two young children, a community that is so dear to me, and our country. We need serious healing, reflection, and forgiveness for any who have wronged us. I encourage all, regardless of politics or ideology to pray for healing and seek better to love one another. God bless Charlie for making the ultimate sacrifice for our fundamental rights.
