We were happy to host the Vision Henderson County group for a tour of the Wastewater Treatment Plant earlier this week. The Vision program builds community leadership as participants get an in-depth view of economic, cultural, educational, and government assets in Henderson County. These local leaders learned about the City's collection system and the treatment process as well as new projects like the biosolids thermal dryer which is a sustainable way to reuse nutrient-rich biosolids as fertilizer and reduce disposal costs. They also got to see the high water marks caused by Helene flooding and learn about the steps taken to get the facility back online. Henderson County Chamber of Commerce
