Organ donation can be a mystery to many. At LiveOnNY, we are working every day to break through and help dispel myths and misconceptions about donation. The Donate Eight Simulation Center at #LiveOnNY is one of those important educational tools for the Community, and the LiveOnNY kidney rescue center is what has helped to make us a national leader in the placement of kidneys that may be discarded.    Join Roger Clark from Spectrum News 1 as he tours alongside our President & CEO Leonard Achan RN, MA, ANP, Senior Director, Recovery Services Christina Jaeschke and a group of high school students getting an inside look at organ donation, a topic that isn’t always openly discussed. The tours of our Simulation Center give the public a rare opportunity to see the donation process up close, highlighting the need, the impact, and the importance of informed education.    Students Institute for Health Professions at Cambria Heights (IHPCH) — a high school that prepares students for college and careers in medicine — were joined by the Dean, Student Activities Coordinator, Chrishelle Thorpe, who is a kidney recipient, making the tour even more meaningful. In the past year, LiveOnNY has welcomed more than 600 students and community members to the Simulation Center, providing behind the scenes access to understanding the process of organ donation.   #donatelife #nursing #organdonation #tissuedonation #transplantwaitlist   Ruth C.
