AI didn’t steal your job, then who did? A new Yale study finds AI has had essentially zero impact on jobs so far. The real culprits for the tough job market? Look to factors like rising interest rates, which cooled hiring, and a potential oversupply of graduates for early-career roles. While headlines scream about AI layoffs, the data shows the labor market's composition hasn't shifted in a way that points to AI disruption....at least, not yet. #AI #Jobs #Economy #YaleStudy

🎯 Skills > Degrees? The case is growing stronger. Research shows that for many AI & emerging-tech jobs, companies increasingly value demonstrable skills over formal degrees. In tech hiring reports: ~48% of organizations plan to expand hiring in AI-related roles. What that suggests: • Organizations should re-consider rigid degree filters, focusing more on “What can you do?” and “Can you learn fast?” • Candidates from non-traditional backgrounds (bootcamps, self-taught, career-changers) may have increasing opportunity, provided they can show proof. The message: fit for future tech roles means “adaptable, skill-driven, outcome-oriented” more than “just a degree”. #TechHiring #SkillBasedHiring #TalentStrategy #TechTalent #TechStaffing #TechRecruiting #AI #TechLeadership #FutureOfWork #DigitalTransformation #HiringTrends #Recruiting #Staffing #Procom

The #AI job crisis is real The U.K. is facing a severe Gen Z job crisis: around 1.2 million graduates are competing for just 17,000 available entry-level positions, the worst ratio since the late 1990s. AI automation and hiring freezes have wiped out many entry-level roles, while universities keep producing degrees misaligned with market needs—leaving thousands of young workers stranded between education and employment.

Gen Z isn’t unprepared; the economy is. Only 8% of hiring managers say Gen Z is ready for work. But maybe the problem isn’t them. College degrees cost more and mean less. Entry-level roles have vanished into “ghost jobs.” And AI is hollowing out white-collar work faster than universities can update a syllabus. Gen Z didn’t fail the system; the system failed to evolve. If companies really want to fix the talent gap, they’ll stop complaining about “workforce readiness” and start rethinking what qualified looks like. #GenZ #FutureOfWork #Education #Hiring #AI #Leadership #SkillsBasedHiring #OrganizationalPsychology

Last week, I thought I’d test how far AI could go in doing my job. So, I asked it to find recruiter contacts, draft messages, and even plan follow-ups. It worked fast, looked polished — and honestly, I was impressed. Two days later… silence. Not one reply. Then I sent a simple message myself — added some warmth, context, and a small personal note. The recruiter replied in a short span. That’s when it really clicked for me. AI can make us faster, smarter, more efficient — but it still can’t replace what makes people say “yes.” It can’t read tone, sense hesitation, or build trust through genuine connection. In career services — especially in placements — that human touch is everything.
